When to book

For December to March, book your Damajagua tour at least 2-3 weeks in advance. In shoulder months a few days ahead is enough. Cruise ship days (check the Taino Bay / Amber Cove schedules) add 500-1,000 visitors so arrive early.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, but check conditions. May to November is the rainy season. Brief afternoon showers are common. After heavy rain the canyon closes for 24-48 hours due to flash flood risk. September and October are the peak hurricane months, with highest closure risk.

Arrive at opening (8:30-9:00 AM). Morning light is best for photography, the trail is cooler and the crowds are smaller. Cruise ship groups usually arrive between 10:30 AM and noon, so finish your route before then if you want quiet waterfalls.
